Caroline Redman Lusher: Founder and director of Rock Choir™ and solo artist

The pioneer of the contemporary choir phenomenon, Caroline Redman Lusher, is recognised as a leader of women and as a dynamic and successful businesswoman and entrepreneur.  Founder of Rock Choir™ and a talented solo artist, she is an inspiration to thousands of women across the UK.

Rock Choir™ is now recognised as the world’s largest contemporary choir with over 132 choirs and eight thousand members. With the Rock Choir™ team, Caroline plans to expand Rock Choir™ nationally from September 2012 offering the general public nearly 200 Rock Choir™ choirs.

A professional singer and musician, with grade eight certificates in both violin and piano from the Royal School of Music, she started performing professionally at fifteen while studying for a classical music scholarship.   Before she become a teacher of Performing Arts and Music, she pursued her dream to win a record deal performing in the West End.

Her dream was realised when Rock Choir™ was offered a four album record deal with Universal. Caroline has also featured on the ‘Together’ album by Blake, the classical-pop crossover artists, and The Soldiers ‘Coming Home’ album, which reached double platinum status.  Her duet ‘Against All Odds’ was officially the most downloaded song on The Soldiers album.

Sam Enser

Sam leads the Chobham/Woking, Dorking, Esher adult Choirs and Weybridge adult and teenage choirs

Sam is a multi-talented contemporary performer and as a pianist and singer is a force to be reckoned with in the Rock Choir™ Team. As well as gaining a degree in Professional musicianship at B.I.M.M. (Brighton Institute of Modern Music) she previously won a music scholarship studying classical piano, flute, French horn and choral work.

As well as being a Rock Choir™ leader, Sam regularly performs as a professional singer with function bands 'The Guest List' and the 'Dancefloor Fillers' She also contributes to the music team behind the scenes at Rock Choir Ltd.

Sam is known to Rock Choir™ members as having endless enthusiasm and energy and her sessions leave everyone on a high!

Tom George

Tom George leads the Guildford and Godalming adult choirs and Farnham adult and teenage choirs

Both a singer and pianist, Tom George has been teaching since 2004 specialising in vocal technical development and creative improvisation. He grew up listening to Aretha Franklin and James Brown and has been singing from the age of seven joining the school choir and testing out his musical talents. More recently, Tom graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music, Tom has been involved with numerous projects both in composition and singing  working with producers and writers and companies such as Universal Records, Ministry of Sound, and top computers games publisher THQ. His talent is recognised globally with his contemporary work published and released on high profile albums, in collaboration with various other producers and writers. Tom has also performed all over the world, fronting numerous successful bands entertaining thousands of people in the process. He brings a wealth of performance experience and energy to the Rock Choir™ team.

Abigail Smith

Abigail leads the Harpenden, Hertford, St Albans and Watford choirs

Classically trained, Abbie Smith is a talented contemporary Musician with four Grade VIII certificates as an accomplished pianist, oboist and saxophonist. She graduated with honours from the Royal Academy of Music and has performed extensively in Britain, Russia and across Europe. She has enjoyed solo performances at The Royal Albert Hall, St Martin–in–the-fields and The Wigmore Hall in London. Abigail has won various awards for her classical skills including the ‘Sherrards and Observer Excellence Award’, the ‘Edith Oulten de Pauley Associated Board Prize’, the ‘Guinness Music in Community Prize’. Alongside her love of contemporary and classical singing, Abbie enjoys teaching all ages and abilities, and is passionate that singing should be fun and accessible to everyone. Abigail is an asset to the Rock Choir™ Team and is loved by the members for her lovely personality and talent.  

Katy Seath

Katy leads the Chiswick, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe adult choirs and the Gerrards Cross adult and teenage choirs

Katy Seath has been singing and performing for over fifteen years.  Having completed a Drama degree at Manchester University, Katy set up freelance drama clubs for children and went on to co found Colchester's first contemporary youth choir. Before joingin The Rock Choir™ Team Katy was a performing arts specialist and mentor for London based music company ‘Artis’.

As well as being a Rock Choir™ leader, Katy performs regularly with the accomplished female duo ‘Cherry Sundae’ and is involved in a number of commercial chart orientated projects. She is lead vocalist in the band ‘Bassistry’ and has provided session vocals for published children's songs, online video games and educational CD Roms. Katy believes firmly that singing songs can be a hugely rewarding and cathartic tool in life.

Christina Dmytryk

Christina leads the Ealing, Hampstead, Marylebone/Mayfair and Woodford choirs

Christina studied voice and piano gaining grades 8 and 7 certificates from the Royal Academy of Music. With these classical achievements under her belt, Christina advanced her skills in contemporary music graduating with a BMus in Popular Music Performance at ‘Vocal Tech’.

Since the start of her contemporary music studies Christina has worked and learned from world renowned musicians, such as Jazz & Swing singer Iain Mackenzie; vocalist and tutor Nikki Lamborn and the creator behind Shirley Bassey's ‘The Living Tree’, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz and Blur) at the ‘Green Peace Anti-Nuclear Weapon’, Gig.

Christina’s vibrant and charismatic teaching style is key in the Rock Choir™ team and the Rock Choir™ members love her fun sessions.

 

Jim Hawkins

Jim leads the Bromley, Kingston upon Thames, Richmond, Teddington and Orpington morning adult choirs and Wimbledon adult and teenage choirs

Jim is a contemporary musician and composer and classically trained with an honours degree in Music and Music Technology awarded by Kingston University in 2001. Since leaving University, Jim has built a credible C.V. of musical composition and has had work broadcast on various TV channels including The Discovery, Channel 5 and Channel 4.

He has a passionate interest in the emotive value of music, its powerful effect on the human mind and finds immense pleasure in encouraging learners to identify with expressive qualities in the music being performed. Jim has worked for many years as a keyboard player, pianist, drummer, vocalist, and was contracted as "speciality pianist" for Disney Cruise Lines in 2007. Since then he has performed regularly in major London hotels, bars and casinos both as a soloist and as part of the ‘Jim Hawkins Trio’.

Jim is a valued, talented and exciting leader in the Rock Choir™ Team and regularly quotes, “It's the best job in the world!”

 

Jan Moll

Jan leads the Chandlers Ford, Meon Valley, Portsmouth and Winchester choirs

Jan is a multi-talented vocal coach and pianist with a wealth of experience performing in both Scotland and now the South of England. She trained at Dundee University with the acclaimed Judith Wilkes and has been teaching singing for over 15 years with many of her pupils going on to study in various London theatre schools.

As well as being part of The Rock Choir™ Team, Jan regularly performs with her jazz band the "Blue Stars" and on stage as a singer/actress at the Kings Theatre and Ferneham Hall.

Jan’s vivacious and energetic attitude to Rock Choir™ makes her an asset to the team and to the Rock Choir™ members who enjoy the lively and fun entertainment that she brings to each rehearsal.

Pippa Gearing

Pippa leads the Amersham, Dunstable, Hemel Hempstead and Welwyn Garden City choirs

Pippa Gearing is an energetic and talented singer pianist. She studied a degree in music at Manchester University where she gained a 1st class honours. After graduating, she enjoyed the lifestyle of a singer and performer on five star luxury cruise ships, travelling across the globe. She also spent a Season in Lapland! Pippa now spends her free time as a session singer supporting a list of artists such as "Scarlette Fever" and "Raya" and has toured with acts supporting Simon Webbe from 'Blue' and 'Journey South' (X Factor). She also performs in “The Rockabellas”, a three part 1940’s style close harmony girl group. Her recent TV appearance featured her singing the National Anthem Live on Sky 1 at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix. She is delighted to be a Rock Choir™ Leader and offering her unique energising personality to the Rock Choir™ members.

 

Glen Harvey

Glen leads the Basingstoke, Wokingham, Maidenhead, Windsor adult choirs and the Fleet adult and teenage choirs

Glen is a talented and charismatic performer with advanced skills as a vocalist, pianist and guitarist. He studied contemporary vocal performance at the Academy of Contemporary Music (A.C.M.) where he gained a Higher Diploma and then a B.A. Honours Degree. Rock Choir™ members may recognise Glen as a TV star, as he reached the semi-finals in the national TV singing competition ‘Pop Idol’! He has performed to audiences of up to 10,000 and features on the 1st Rock Choir™ album as a soloist.

Glen has worked as a session musician with producers such as Douglas Whyte and Jonny Rockstar at Metropolis Studios and in turn has featured on local and national radio and on TV.

Whilst performing, Glen’s teaching experience has included working at the Mill Chase Community School, and more recently ACS International School in Egham, Glen is a force within the Rock Choir™ Team and a delight to the Rock Choir™ members.

Nik Haley

Nik leads the Orpington evening, Tonbridge and Maidstone adult choirs and the Sevenoaks adult and teenage choirs

Nik Haley is a composer, songwriter and musician.  He has worked with amateur and professional singers and musicians as Musical Director, Composer, and Choir Leader.  He holds a Masters degree in Composition for Film & Television from the London College of Music. 

He has worked with the Youth Music Theatre UK, the National Youth Music Theatre, London Community Gospel Choir, National Theatre and the BBC.  His music has appeared on several TV & film productions, including recent BBC 3 comedy shows for Al Murray, Karen Taylor and Lee Nelson. 

He is signed to and writes exclusively for London music publisher & label AGE Media.

Nik loves the spirit of energy, fun and enjoyment of music in Rock Choir™ and loves bringing his own passion and enthusiasm to the team/family.

Lucy Hewes

Lucy leads the Ascot and Henley-on-Thames adult choirs and Reading adult and teenage choirs

Lucy Hewes has been playing the piano since the age of 5, discovering her vocal ability along the way. Graduating with first-class honours in Classical Piano Performance from the London College of Music, she has always been keen to keep her career exciting and diverse. From teaching singing and piano to appearing in the feature film of ‘Joseph’ and performing on stage at the Royal Albert Hall with the London Philharmonic Choir.

Lucy is now thrilled about starting her new adventure as a Rock Choir™ leader, allowing her to bring all of her talents and experience to the role.

 

Maxine Cherrie

Maxine leads the Altrincham and Wilmslow/Handforth and Worsley adult choirs and Bury adult and teenage choirs

Maxine Cherrie GMUS R.N.C.M. started her musical studies at a young age and before long was awarded a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music part-time, followed by a full-time scholarship at the Purcell School of Music. She furthered her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music before switching her route from Classical to Contemporary by attending Salford University where she pursued a qualification in Popular Music with Recording techniques.

Maxine has a wealth of performance experience both as a professional vocalist and dancer. An accomplished choral director, Maxine has provided choirs for both Andy Abrahams and Rod Stewart on their latest U.K. tours. Maxine is passionate about choral music and looks to inspire her Rock Choir™ members with the same passion and shared love of singing.

Michael Childs

Michael leads the Bristol, Stroud and Bath adult choirs and the Cheltenham adult and teenage choirs

Michael is a contemporary musician and writer, who is classically trained with grade 8 in piano and trumpet and studied at the Guildhall School of Music. He has many years experience working as a keyboard player, has had 2 children's musicals published and a number of songs with Big Life music. He has run workshops for the education department of the Royal Opera House and has worked as a musical director in local theatre. He has a particular love of R&B and 70's soul music.

He loves being part of the Rock Choir™ team being able to share his life long passion for music with his choirs.

 

Michael Fricker

Michael leads the Dulwich, Bexleyheath, Blackheath and Avery Hill/Eltham choirs

Michael Fricker gratuated at the "Musikhochschule Zurich" in Switzerland. In the last few years he was busy playing concerts through Europe and was lucky to share the stage with bands like "Kings Of Leon" and other international acts. He has also many years of experience in teaching music in secondary schools as well as leading different choirs, bands and musical workshops.

Michael is thrilled to bring his huge live experience into leading his new choirs in Bexleyheath, Blackheath, Dulwich and Avery Hill/Eltham.

 

Jenny Deacon

Jenny leads the Bournemouth, New Forest and Southampton adult choirs and the Christchurch adult and teenage choirs

Jenny is a born performer, studying at Southampton University towards a Masters in Composition. Jenny is a multi-instrumentalist, qualified with many grades in each, performing at venues including The Royal Albert Hall alongside jazz trumpeter Guy Barker. She has even performed for the Queen. She is a keen musical director, leading many productions and bands on tour around Europe, and was nominated Best Musical Director for 2009 Daily Echo Curtain Call awards.

Jenny feels she has found her true calling with Rock Choir!

 

Kathryn Jones

Kathryn leads the Chester, Knutsford, Nantwich and Warrington choirs

Kathryn joins Rock Choir™ from a Musical Theatre background. She trained at Mountview Theatre School gaining a BA(hons) Performance. Since graduating she has appeared in a number of productions both internationally and in the UK, most notably the West End production of Blood Brothers. Kathryn is a talented vocal coach with many of her pupils following in her footsteps to train at London Drama Schools. She recently gained an ALCM(TD) in Musical Theatre and runs West End Workshop North Wales during the summer months.

Kathryn is delighted to be part of the Rock Choir™ Family and can’t wait to bring her energetic personality and voice to her members.

 

Georgie Standage

Georgie leads the Epsom, Haslemere and Horsham adult choirs and Reigate adult and teenage choirs

Georgie began her musical training at age 5 progressing her singing in choirs and achieving grade 8 electronic organ. She graduated in Contemporary Vocals at the Academy of Contemporary Music, where she founded `Fever’ her function band. Many gigs and tours followed, notably Goodwood Festival of Speed, appearances on Welsh Television and performing for the King of Jordon at a family wedding.

She teaches vocals and has also worked in the theatre as vocal coach on the musical `Head’. Georgie sessioned for the Company `Evera’ arranging for the TV presenter Kate Thornton. She also writes and arranges her own songs. Georgie was delighted to perform on the `Coming Home’ Soldiers Tour with Rock Choir.

Elaine Williamson

Elaine leads the Edinburgh, Glasgow (Knightswood & Giffnock) and Kirkintilloch choirs

Elaine has recently graduated with an BA(Hons) in music performance from the UHI Millennium Institute in Perth Scotland. She has a wealth of performance experience around Scotland, working as a session pianist/ keyboard player and vocalist for various artists as well as working as an events pianist in such places as Perth Concert Hall. She has also worked as a music lecturer in Perth College as well as being a freelance piano, vocal and music theory tutor. Elaine is an enthusiastic Musical Director and her most recent venture was MDing an original production of “Rocky the Musical” which she also co-wrote. She has a love of a variety of musical styles such as funk, soul, indie, rock and of course musical theatre.

Elaine is passionate about the benefits people gain from of singing as part of a group and is extremely thrilled to be a part of the Rock Choir™ team. She is also particularly enthusiastic about making Rock Choir™ a success in Bonny Scotland!

Lottie Greenhow

Lottie leads Rock Choir in Ampthill, Bedford, Milton Keynes and Hitchin

Lottie Greenhow is an enthusiastic, talented and versatile musician with Grade 8 certificates in voice, piano and violin. She studied Music at Cambridge University, where she held choral scholarships at Christ’s and Jesus Colleges and received numerous awards for her performance and composition skills.

Lottie continues to perform internationally as a contemporary, classical and folk singer and has performed with Julian Lloyd Webber, amongst others. She also enjoys a busy teaching schedule. Lottie has unbridled enthusiasm for all genres of music, with a particular fondness for the folk music of Norway, where she was born.

Lottie thoroughly enjoys bringing her unique personality to Rock Choir and is thrilled to be sharing her passion for singing with so many people!

Jennifer Sim

Jennifer leads the Bothwell, Greenock, Hamilton, Kilmacolm and Milngavie adult choirs and Glasgow City Centre adult and teenage choirs

Jennifer has been performing at competition level since the age of 5 and has Grade 8 Piano and Grade 7 Violin. After being accepted into the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, she achieved an Honours Degree at St. Andrews University. She competed for many years in the Inverclyde Music and National Mod festivals winning in vocal and instrumental performances. She loves amateur theatre and has twice performed at the Edinburgh Festival.

More recently She has brought the joy of music to youngsters successfully running her own music business teaching hundreds of children.

Jennifer has boundless energy and enthusiasm and is delighted to be offering more people in Scotland the opportunity to take part in Rock Choir™!

Jamie Speed

Jamie leads the Ashford, Canterbury, Deal and Folkstone choirs

Jamie is a passionate and enthusiastic musician who loves to play every style of music from Rock ‘n’ Roll to Beethoven Sonatas. In 2009 Jamie graduated from Southampton University specializing in performance and composition. In 2010 he completed his Master in Film Composition with Andrew Fisher, leaving with a flourishing and impressive portfolio. Jamie is a very diverse musician, trained as both a Classical and Jazz pianist he enjoys performing in a wide variety of musical styles and has had the privilege of working with many great musicians such as the British composer and performer John Mcabe and the celebrated pianist David Owen Norris.

Jamie really enjoys expressing himself through his role as a Rock Choir™ leader, loves a challenge, is adored by his choir members and has been since day one!

Nic Slack

Nic leads the Leeds and Wakefield choirs.

Nic has been a professional musician and performer for 15 years. Inspired as a child by his older brother's diverse music collection and passion for synthesizers, he first began playing keyboards in bands at the tender age of 16. Since then, as a highly sought after keyboard player, he has played for numerous bands and artists, performing and touring in the UK, Europe and America. Nic has played on and contributed to a variety of recordings over the years and has had tracks featured in TV and Film, including epic travel documentary “The Long Way Round” for Sky One and 2004 action thriller “The Defender” starring Dolph Lundgren and Jerry Springer.

Nic loves playing, teaching and inspiring others to play and take up music. His enthusiasm, skill and humour make for an utterly enjoyable and fun Rock Choir™ experience.

Andrew Small

Andrew Small leads Rock Choir in Chelmsford, Leigh on Sea, Wickford & Brentwood/Ingatestone

Andrew Small gained a 2.1 BA(Hons) Music Composition at Coventry University. He is a highly skilled guitarist, pianist and vocalist with a wealth of experience ranging from musical theatre to song writing. Andrew has been signed to an Artist and Tour Management company with his band and has played to many thousands of people supporting big name acts including Jools Holland. He is also a freelance session musician and offers private tuition. Andrew was musically inspired by his parents at a very young age.

Andrew believes Rock Choir to be his proudest achievement to date. He finds it extremely rewarding being able to bring the community together through music. His passions are teaching, singing and performing and Rock Choir enables him to do all of these.

Carrie Rawlings

Carrie Rawlings leads Rock Choir in Cambridge, Huntingdon & St Neots.

Carrie Rawlings is a talented singer and pianist with a BA in Performing Arts from King Alfred’s College Winchester and a Post Graduate Diploma in Musical Theatre from Mountview in London. Her performance engagements have included singing as the support act to Gerry and the Pacemakers, alongside the writer of ‘Wicked’ Stephen Schwartz and debuting her one woman show ‘When I Was Young I Listened to The Radio’ at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia with headliner Olivia Newton-John. Her musical influences include everything from The Carpenters to Lily Allen and loves old and new music.

Carrie enjoys what Rock Choir has to offer in Cambridgeshire from the new relationships she forms, the great music she teaches and ultimately seeing people having a good time each week.

Charlotte Fane

Charlotte Fane leads Rock Choir in Brighton, Haywards Heath & Burgess Hill.

Charlotte graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2003 with a BMus Honours, Grade 8 Singing and Grade 7 Piano. She has performed with amateur and professional companies and regularly sings with close harmony trio The Doo Wop Dolls.

Charlotte teaches at various schools and theatre schools in East Sussex as well as having her own private teaching practice. She ran the Stagecoach Regional choir for the South East who performed at events at the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Highly motivated by all types of music, Charlotte enjoys teaching and believes that everyone can sing. Rock Choir is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to be a star and Charlotte enjoys bringing the Rock back into Brighton.

Deborah Coates

Deborah Coates leads Rock Choir in Banbury, Brackley, Bicester & Oxford.

Debbie studied the oboe to ABRSM Grade 8 and piano to Grade 7 standard. She then studied English Literature at Warwick University and continued performing music, both with the University orchestra and with a rock band supporting artists, including Pauline Black, at gigs around the Midlands.

She has worked in television, music publishing and marketing and continues to perform, instrumentally and vocally, in many different orchestras and pop/jazz bands.

Debbie is thrilled to be able to share her enjoyment of singing and music with so many new people through Rock Choir and considers herself incredibly lucky to have a job that is so much fun!

Elliot Sutcliffe

Elliot Sutcliffe leads Rock Choir in Halifax, Huddersfield, Dewsbury & Bradford.

Elliot Sutcliffe is an extremely talented contemporary pianist with a BA Honours degree in music technology and popular music.  In his adult life, he has performed Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ with The Burnley Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir. He has performed and trained with American gospel choir leader and member of ‘The Invitations’ Richie Pitts. Elliot has lots of experience in various genres of live music, being a member of contemporary bands and choirs since the age of four and began leading choirs and bands in College. He’s gained a keen interest in teaching alongside performing.

Elliot is delighted to be part of the Rock Choir team and is always excited to meet and teach new members in West Yorkshire.

Kate Benson

Kate Benson leads Rock Choir in Derby City Centre, Belper, Beeston & Ashbourne.

Kate Benson is a talented and classically trained pianist, singer and clarinettist. She graduated with BA (hons) in Music from Nottingham University and gained an MA in journalism a year later from the University of Surrey. After graduating Kate travelled the country reporting for the BBC and local contemporary music stations enjoying back stage access to the world’s biggest pop acts. Kate is fanatical gig goer and Glee devotee! It is her firm belief that music is a tonic for the soul and should be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Through Rock Choir Kate is determined to share her passion for life and music and get the whole of the east Midlands rocking!

Katie Hockley

Katie Hockley leads Rock Choir in Rochester, Kings Hill, Wigmore/Gillingham & Gravesend.

Katie Hockley is a classically trained pianist and vocalist, with a Higher Diploma from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Performance Vocals. She is an experienced session vocalist and has performed widely with live function bands across the South-East at various events. During her career to date, she has had the privilege of singing alongside Sam Brown, of Pink Floyd fame, and supported vocalist Patti Russo, of Meatloaf. Having also taught vocal ensembles and peripatetically, Katie is thrilled that, as a Rock Choir agent, she is able to combine her joy of teaching with her enthusiasm for performance.

She loves Rock Choir as it is a unique environment in which she can utilise her passion for music to encourage fun, laughs and camaraderie; bringing energy to the Kent community.

Natasha Willis

Natasha Willis leads Rock Choir in Ringwood, Romsey, Salisbury & Fordingbridge.

Natasha is an enthusiastic and talented musician, with Grade 8 Singing and Piano and a Masters in Music Performance from Southampton University.

Her performance career has been exciting and varied, including Choral Church Scholarships, Musical Theatre roles, a capella groups and various funk and rock bands.

Natasha also loves teaching, and has musically directed choirs and musical theatre shows in the Southampton area.

She is thrilled to be able to offer her skills as a Rock Choir leader and encourages the people of Great Britain to sing up, join in and become rock stars!

Rob Slater

Rob Slater leads Rock Choir in Ponteland, Newcastle, Gateshead & Sunderland.

Rob Slater is a talented musician who plays piano/keyboard, vocals, guitar and drums. He completed his BA HONS Degree in Music Performance at The UHI Millennium Institute in Perth, Scotland. Rob has been performing music for many years all over the North of Britain in original bands, function bands and has played in several musicals including Grease and The Phantom of the Opera. One of his most recent projects which he wrote and directed was an original production of ‘Rocky the Musical’. Rob has taught piano/keyboard for several years.

Rob is very enthusiastic about being part of the Rock Choir team and loves how people who have not had experience in singing can get the chance to let their voices be heard in Rock Choir.

Sarah Stephens

Sarah Stephens leads Rock Choir in Leicester, Lutterworth, Hinckley & Loughborough.

Sarah Stephens is a highly talented and enthusiastic musician. She graduated with a BMus (Hons) from the University of Birmingham and went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Studies at Birmingham Conservatoire for which she was awarded a Distinction.

Sarah enjoys combining her passion for singing and teaching. She performs as a freelance soprano soloist and has performed throughout the country including at York Minster, Birmingham Symphony Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.

Sarah has a wealth of experience as a conductor and teacher and loves using her energetic personality and expertise to enthuse singers and musicians of all ages and abilities.

Sarah is thrilled she can utilise all her musical skills and is delighted to bring Rock Choir to Leicestershire.

Sonia Eyre

Sonia Eyre leads Rock Choir in Solihull, Birmingham City Centre, Lichfield & Sutton Coldfield.

Sonia Eyre is a classically trained singer who gained her masters in Early Music performance from the Trinity College of Music in London. Starting music at the tender age of six, Sonia learnt piano, violin and saxophone to grade 8 standard. She has been privileged to perform vocal solos in venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall and Notre Dame, Paris. As well as performing regularly Sonia enjoys teaching all ages and abilities in the range of instruments that she offers.

Rock Choir is an amazing opportunity for anyone that loves to sing and Sonia loves bringing everyone together in the West Midlands singing the pop, motown and gospel classics!

 

Rebecca Clegg

Rebecca Clegg leads Rock Choir in Caterham, Croydon, Oxted & East Grinstead.

Rebecca Clegg is a highly trained musician with grade 7 piano & singing and her musical interests are fantastically varied. She has 20 years’ experience as a pianist playing for local variety shows, weddings, wedding receptions, dinner parties and she is also an accomplished organist. She has sung in many choirs and assisted in training choristers for RSCM national awards. Rebecca teaches piano and takes her pupils to exam standard and has a successful composition career arranging and writing award winning music of all styles including solo and ensemble pieces for marching bands. Rebecca runs the hove jazz band ‘The 6th Alumni’ in which she conducts, accompanies on the piano and plays Euphonium in the brass section!

She has a strong passion for being part of Rock Choir and delights in teaching the members and brings the element of fun into the music.

Kate Threlfall

Kate leads Rock Choir in Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield and Rotherham

Kate Threlfall is a professional singer and pianist. Starting piano lessons at the age of five, she achieved Grade 8 with the London College of Music. Her passion for singing developed alongside and Kate became involved in local theatre productions, most notably playing lead role in ‘Watermark’ at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Kate went on to train at The Italia Conti Theatre School in London and has since been a Redcoat for Butlins, Keyboard Vocalist in a band and has travelled the world as Principal Vocalist aboard luxury cruise liners. In 2004 Kate won the award of Best Female Vocalist with her own act. More recently she has been part of a four piece musical tribute to the West-End and Broadway.

Kate is thrilled to be part of the Rock Choir team and loves inspiring others with her passion for music.

Chris Mutch

Chris leads Rock Choir in Aberdeen, Westhill and Bieldside

Chris Mutch graduated from Perth College UHI with a BA(Hons) in music performance and began as classical pianist before moving on to jazz and contemporary music in his time at university. He has focused primarily on performance, playing around the country and reaching as far as California. Chris' musical inspiration is rooted in jazz, gospel and Motown, with favourite artists such as Oscar Peterson, Maroon 5 and Marvin Gaye influencing his personal style. It is such a privilege to be part of the Rock Choir team, to have the opportunity to help people come together in singing and dancing in their communities is inspiring and motivating!

 

 

 

Sarah Manton

Sarah leads Rock Choir in Petersfield, Alton, Camberley and Farnham

Sarah is a classically trained pianist and singer having spent 15 years studying music and performing arts then moving into contemporary music after joining Rock Choir as a member in 2009. Performances with Rock Choir as a soloist at venues such as Winchester Cathedral and the Anvil theatre in Basingstoke enabled her to show such passion for singing and performing. Having discovered the pleasures of teaching children and adults privately at her home she now feels she has found her ideal role within Rock Choir. Her influences are singer/songwriters Eric Clapton, Sara Bareilles, and Newton Faulkner. Sarah hopes that through Rock Choir she can share her passion for music and give others the chance to experience the benefits and joy that singing brings.

 

 

Claire Harris

Claire Harris leads Rock Choir in Paddock Wood, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough  and Wadhurst

Claire Harris is an accomplished and talented musician.  She started her musical journey learning the Recorder at school and went on to play the Violin and Piano.  Studying music and psychology at Middlesex University, she later qualified as a teacher at Canterbury Christ Church University.  Claire has a life long passion for singing and studied with BBC Best of Jazz award winner Anita Wardell.  She works professionally as a jazz singer and created an open mic night at Pizza Express to give singers an opportunity to perform.  Claire believes that everyone deserves to enjoy the experience of singing with other people and wants her Rock Choir members to have fun and leave rehearsals with a renewed zest for life!

 

 

Claire Spearing

Claire Spearing leads Rock Choir in Manchester, Stockport and Macclesfield

Claire Spearing grew up in the world of Brass Banding and reached grade 8 euphonium. At the age of 20 she joined the percussion section, quickly progressing to perform with a championship section brass band at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester whilst studying voice at University.

Claire plays piano and sings in a contemporary band and has played many venues in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, including the Liverpool o2.

Having completed her PGCE in Music teaching she is extremely pleased to be able to use those skills as a Rock Choir leader as she loves the sense of accomplishment and pride that being part of a choir brings, and thoroughly enjoys bringing people of all ages together through Music.

Daniel Ribbits

Daniel leads Rock Choir in Witham, Colchester, Braintree and Sudbury

Daniel is an energetic, accomplished pianist of some 25 years, and also a keen Saxophonist. After studying music at school Daniel chose to follow a professional training career but kept music as an passion out side of his working life.  Daniel’s experience is with local amateur groups musically directing shows such as Godspell (twice!), Jesus Christ Superstar as well many local Pantomimes in Essex! Daniel is hoping his career in training will mean that he will be able to bring the best out of those people who join Rock Choir and that they will be able to enjoy the experience as much as he does!

 

Ian Sainsbury

Ian leads Rock Choir in Norwich (Thorpe), Norwich (City centre), Beccles/Bungay and Wymondham

After achieving a distinction at Grade 8 piano, Ian Sainsbury ran away from home to join the circus (Blackpool Tower – in the band!). A varied career as a singer, musician and comedian has taken him from London to Bangkok and from theatre tours to private parties for corporations and individuals, including Sir Paul McCartney. He loves to perform and his passion for music is infectious. Leading Rock Choir in East Anglia gives him the perfect excuse to share the amazing buzz of singing great songs together.

 

Josephine Harris

Jo leads Rock Choir in Enfield/Cheshunt, Hoddesdon and Harlow

Josephine Harris is a singer songwriter who graduated from Brunel University, with a first class honours degree in Modern Drama Studies; she also recently graduated from the American Musical Theatre Academy of London where she achieved distinction in Music/Singing and Drama. Jo began vocal training and learning the Saxophone in secondary school alongside piano tuition, achieving Grade 6 saxophone and Grade 8 voice. Alongside her love of musical theatre, she is passionate about music and is a strong believer in the power and potential of song and group singing to be fun and inspirational for all.

She truly believes that all that is needed to enjoy Rock Choir is enthusiasm and a desire to meet new people and learn new things.

Katherine Penn

Katherine leads the Newbury, Goring/Woodcote, Thatcham and Wallingford/Didcot Rock Choir choirs

Katherine Penn is an accomplished and diverse musician. After achieving Grade 8 piano and Diploma qualifications in vocal and clarinet performance, she has performed in venues such as Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC proms. Katherine graduated with a BA(hons) in Music from the University of Nottingham where she had begun to explore performing music of more contemporary genres in several gigs and concerts. Alongside her vocal performances, Katherine teaches singers of ranging abilities and has worked with several youth choirs in southern England. Katherine is passionate about the way in which Rock Choir can be so uplifting on a social and personal level as well as offering an amazing musical experience.

Katie Thomas

Katie leads Rock Choir in Cardiff (Llandaff and Cyncoed) and Penarth

Katie is an energetic and talented musician who found the piano and singing before she could even walk! Katie was actively involved in music from a young age performing in many youth orchestras and ensembles on Piano, Violin and Flute at venues including St David’s Hall. Katie made the move from Cardiff to London and studied Music at Royal Holloway University of London and graduated with BMus Hons. After graduating Katie continued to perform and enjoyed the lifestyle of pianist/singer, performing in several London Leading 5* hotels. Alongside her music Katie developed a successful events and marketing career before making the move back to Wales to focus on her music and teaching.

Katie is delighted to be working with Rock Choir as it combines her love of music and teaching!

Kerry Polglase

Kerry leads Rock Choir in Bodmin, Newquay and Truro

Kerry is an established musician and singer. She started her musical journey as a classical musician gaining a Grade 7 on both Piano and Clarinet. She then changed direction and earned a place at Leeds College of Music studying a GDLM (Graduate Diploma in Light Music) majoring in Voice. After her college years, Kerry started work for Butlins, touring  Hotel chains worldwide (SAS, Hilton). At this time she worked on the same bill as Simply Red and the Temptations and backed many famous Cabaret Artists. After 10 years of touring she became Head of Vocal Studies at Truro and Penwith College.

Kerry is proud and very excited to be bringing the Rock Choir experience to Cornwall.

 

Paul Jackson

Paul leads Rock Choir in Lincoln, Southwell, Newark-on-Trent and Mansfield

Paul Jackson is an experienced performer and a qualified teacher of four years. He has a Degree in Popular Music and Recording from Salford University and specialises in vocals, piano (Grade 8) and drums. He has performed as a piano/vocalist in Dubai, Norway, and cruise liners as well as all over the UK. For 10 years he has been a ‘Robbie Williams’ Tribute Act under the name ‘Paul Warren’, working with celebrities such as Vernon Kaye, Brian Conley and Keith Chegwin as well as numerous TV appearances. Paul enjoys writing, recording and performing music; he especially enjoys the interaction, energy and enthusiasm that Rock Choir brings, and gets a huge buzz from bringing all walks of life together to perform in big events.

 

Phil Reynolds

Phil leads Rock Choir in Ashton-under-Lyne/Tameside, Middleton, Rochdale/Littleborough and Saddleworth/Oldham

Phil is a multi-instrumentalist spanning a range of styles from classical to contemporary. He graduated with honours from the Royal Academy of Music, and has performed with some of the world’s top classical, theatre and pop stars in the UK and abroad (including South Africa, Europe, USA, Bermuda and the Far East). Professional work includes Sunset Boulevard, Oliver and Chicago with artists including Glenn Close, Elaine Paige,  John Barrowman, Ruthie Henshall & Paul O’Grady.

Phil has worked with The Philharmonia, London Virtuosi, London Pops, and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras, appearing on many professional recordings.

Phil has taught music for over ten years. He’s delighted to be bringing all this experience to his role as a Rock Choir leader, believing singing is for everyone.

Rachel Leitch

Rachel leads Rock Choir in Auchterarder, Dundee, Perth and Stirling

Rachel Leitch is a talented performer in contemporary and musical theatre with a  BA Honors Degree from the University of Highlands and Islands in Perth. Rachel made her first appearance as Marta in the Sound of Music at the age of eight and went on to perform in leading roles in various musicals,  choirs and bands around Scotland. Whilst attending University, Rachel performed on stage at Glastonbury as a dancer and performed in a number of bands including recording work. Rachel also enjoys teaching adults and young children and loves to pass on her passion for music in her everyday life.

Rachel loves Rock Choir because of its high energy and is excited to be part of an amazing and talented team!

Jo Saville

Jo leads Rock Choir in St Austell, Liskeard, Plymouth and Saltash

After a musical youth of brass and ‘big’ banding, along with singing in choirs, gigging with a soul band and gaining grade 8 piano, Jo graduated from Exeter University with a BA in music. Here, she performed for the Queen as part of the University Saxophone Quartet and was the Musical Director of the Jazz Orchestra. Jo developed her love of singing by performing in a gospel choir, jazz quintet and stage productions. Following her PCGE, Jo has taught music in many schools and is able to inspire others. She strongly feels that music is a powerful, positive force and loves that singing is accessible to everyone. She is very excited about bring Rock Choir to East Cornwall and Devon and enjoys bringing the community together through singing.

 

Helen Just

Helen leads Rock Choir in Droitwich Spa and Worcester

Helen Just is a talented multi-instrumentalist with three grade eight certificates and advanced piano skills. Having studied Performing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, she went on to gain an honours degree in Secondary Music Education from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. Helen has worked teaching music in schools, as an instrumental teacher for Birmingham Music Service and as a leader of children’s choirs across Worcestershire. Helen considers herself to be a pragmatic teacher and enjoys performing in ensembles and a function band on the sax. Being a Rock Choir leader enables Helen to bring her enthusiasm and passion for music to all members she encounters.

 

Lisa Coates

Rock Choir leader Lisa Coates

Singer, flautist and pianist, Lisa Coates comes from a classical background and can also be found performing rock, pop, music theatre, jazz and swing. Primarily a vocalist, she is currently researching her PhD at the University of York and has also studied music in Newcastle and Montreal. She has performed in the UK, Canada, Italy, Germany, Spain and China. Lisa has worked with Sir Thomas Allen, Gavin Bryars and Veljo Tormis and has recorded and appeared live on BBC radio 3, combining her love of performing with teaching which she considers to be a performance art in itself.

Lisa is really happy to be a part of Rock Choir and to help bring the Rock Choir experience to so many people in Yorkshire.

Stephanie Bailey

Stephanie leads Rock Choir in Bridgend, Cowbridge and Pontyclun/Rhondda

Stephanie Bailey is both a singer and pianist having graduated with a BA Hons in Music at Kingston University. Continuing her studies back in Wales Stephanie gained a PGCE. With a Grade 8 Distinction in Singing (ABRSM) Stephanie has performed as part of a choir ‘Camerata’ for the BBC; accompanied and conducted various choirs in South Wales, performing in prestigious venues including St David’s Hall, Cardiff and Swansea Grand Theatre. Stephanie is a talented musician and has enjoyed accompanying soloists Simone Rebello and Wynne Evans (Mr Gio Compario!) in concert. With her diverse musical experience Stephanie is delighted to work with Rock Choir, sharing in its energy, enthusiasm as the team offer an exciting musical journey to all.

 

Luke Yates

Luke Yates is an exceptionally talented singer/pianist with endless passion and enthusiasm for singing with people of all ages and abilities. Realising his ambitions at age 4, Luke eagerly pursued a career in music. After gaining a scholarship for his talents to the prestigious St Bees School in Cumbria, he refined his skills in singing, piano, guitar and drums. Having grasped his own flair and style by age 14, he was teaching young people around his local area and booking performances in local churches and concert halls. He furthered his studies achieving a triple distinction ND in Popular Music Practice. After building up a reputation as a professional singer (performing regularly in over 40 local venues, weddings etc), he went onto become manager of a thriving music venue booking and performing with artists such as Turin Brakes and KT Tunstall.

Luke is a truly valued asset to the Rock Choir team and offers an energetic and exciting approach to teaching popular classics to eager members!
